MakIng Friends at Your Office

As we leave home for work, we start to understand that work actually becomes our second home. Work also requires a lot of time as the time spent with family and there are those that spend more time at work because they don't have much choice. Working for extended hours can be quite tiresome and stressful but can be averted provided that you have friends you can socialize with. For some, having friends at work is not an important thing however they probably do not know what they are missing.

Friends at work or within your working environment will provide you with an extra hand should have too much work to finish in a day or in a limited time. Friends in the workplace also provides you with eyes that can monitor your work performance thus being able to see what you lack and the subjects where you are not effective at and eventually fix those. Friends in the office can also come in handy should you be in emotional. Lastly, friends in the office as well as on other places can inspire you to do more and to be more. The question however is, how do you earn this good friends at your workplace? Listed below are the things you need to bear in mind to effectively make friends from people at your work place.

Make a good first impression

A basic technique in getting to know people as well as in making them remember who you are. You need to provide your best performance within your first impression to be able to reap the benefits of having a real friend. With the great good impression, people will think that you are worth getting interested in and is worth getting to know thus aimed to be friends with.

As you are introduced to every co-worker, be sure to remember their names or if not their positions in the workplace. This will increase your confidence toward communicating with them.

Dine with your co-workers

Lunch breaks are a perfect opportunity to initiate your task. As soon as you get an opportunity to go with a lunch group do not hesitate as these opportunities will not come very often. This is also the only time at work when workers will be free to unwind and relax as well as do anything they want. This will be a perfect opportunity for you to inform people about you as well as get to know the things you have in common with them.

Open mindedness

You should know that despite your efforts to make friends with people at work, there will be those that aren't really into making friends. For this, a good amount of open mindedness would be essential. Being open-minded, try to know or find out why you are disliked and thus try to make an effort to reinforce that. Not only will you be able to deal with indifference at work but can make your sense of leadership as well as your ability to deal with negativity radiate.

Don't rush making friends

Lastly, making real friends take time. You can expect a friend at work within a day however that would not be a basis for real friendship. However, it shouldn't take you about a year to actually make one. Never a rush to making friends with other people - just let it flow and enjoy yourself.
