Find Out More About Air Ambulance Edmonton

By Donna Jackson

This is a form of transport used to move critically ill patients to health facilities from scenes of accidents by using helicopters or airplanes. There is a highly trained team of people who provide intensive care of the patients before they reach their destinations. In air ambulance Edmonton, the planes are mounted with the same equipment which ambulances usually have like blood drips, syringes and equipment used to help patients in breathing.

These services come along with their own advantages and disadvantages though they are more efficient compared to the same services when offered on the roads. In the roads during transportation of the patient there can be occurrences of traffic jam which can make reaching the destined health facility slow hence the patient may not survive. Though ambulances that use the roads to ferry the patients are mounted with sirens which make a sound that other motorists can easily make a way for, there are arrogant drivers who do not give them space in the traffic.

Another advantage of using air transport is they can move to places where vehicles cannot move including places where there are no roads and the terrain is not suitable for road construction. This helps to transport patients especially soldiers who go in war to protect the peace of war ragged countries. With this merit there is a high level of saving life since there usually is no obstruction in matters of transport.

There is a better chance of saving lives since aircraft medical attention is more efficient than other type of ambulance since good support is given to the patients until they reach the required destination. When this support is given to the patient there are high chances of survival. Chances of medical complications are very minimal hence the number of casualties cannot be that high.

Advantages and disadvantages are part and parcel of every situation. An air ambulance service has several disadvantages which make them less effective. T he disadvantages includes crashing, lack of enough medical experts and equipment used to support the lives of the victims.

Let us have a go into a greater depth of these disadvantages. Plane crush being one of them when air is being used as a form of transport, it claims the life of the medical specialists, the patient who require special medical attention and the pilots; however, it happens in very rare cases. This brings worse casualties as lives are claimed in an effort to save another life.

Lack of adequate trained people who are trained in handling the sick patients is another demerit. When there are enough personnel to cater for the victims there is a high possibility of survival. Inadequate personnel come in handy with lack of adequate equipments which aids the patients to reach the required destinations with enough care which increases the chance of survival; these equipments include breathing machines to help them gasp enough oxygen and so on.

Embracing diversity and advanced technology will make countries move to greater heights. These include supporting the services offered in air since they have more merits as compared to demerits.
