Having a pet in your life is an unbeatable experience according to many pet owners. And you may have been thinking of getting this same experience by deciding on a dog instead of a cat. In your search for a viable pet dog you could have come across a sign that said parti colored Yorkie puppies for sale and this has piqued your interest. Prior to you making a final commitment, finish off this article for some important information you may need for your decision making.

Absolutely no fundamental differences exist between the regular yorkie, or Yorkshire terrier, and the so called parti colored Yorkshire, or Yorkie. The former will have only tn and blue combinations while the latter will have the same color combinations including a third color which is white.

The parti colored breed was first discovered in the 1980s, when its breeder did not want to get rid of it despite many suggestions, as it was considered a sort of aberration. However, this colored breed has surfaced since then and just recently been accepted as a regular Yorkie, to the happiness of course of parti colored yorkie owners.

This breed does not shed fur, or if it does, it is very minimal. This is because it is contained in a single layer coat. The fur many say is almost like human hair, being soft and fine. It will need to be groomed and brushed once a day if it does get long as it has a tendency to tangle and get matted. And as it gets longer grooming and brushing out has to become more regular.

The yorkie craves participation and attention and plenty of activity. These personality factors make them ideal to be trained for trick and agility competitions for their classification. At home they will adapt well in any situation and get well with animals and strangers. They will exhibit alpha dog behavior in that they always want to be the boss.

The breed has a fairly large amount of energy, so small portions of food need to be given to it at the very least three to four times per day. Due to its high level of energy and activity, dehydration may be a problem also so it is recommended that it gets a lot of water also.

Should you start looking for a breeder for this dog, then you should do a bit of background detective work to get the best one for your needs. Try to get a breeder that has high ethical standards and breeds dogs for the improvement of the breed rather than for pure commercial purposes. Make inquiries from forums and such to narrow down your search.

This short article hopefully has given you some relevant information regarding your future yorkie. Remember that it takes a lot of commitment and responsibility to become a good dog owner so you must get as much information as you can on whatever breed you have an eye on before taking the final plunge.
