How Clean Water Project For Small Villages Is Beneficial

By Diane Ellis

Charitable organizations invest huge sums of money on water projects to enhance sustainability. Semi-arid and arid regions rely on rainfall and seasonal rivers for supply. Limited supply leads to drought, poor health, sanitation and learning services. Areas with short supply experience numerous problems which interfere with development. Investing in clean water project for small villages is an effective way of eliminating such problems.

Everyone is entitled to quality health and sanitation. However, shortage of natural resources has increased health risks due to poor sanitation. Management of aqua resources is fundamental to addressing crisis such as poor health, sanitation, and waterborne diseases. Charitable organizations aim to reduce these problems through the supply of water to rural areas where individuals have little or no access to this natural resource. Increased supply enhances health, sanitation and reduces waterborne diseases among young and old individuals.

Education in learning centers is affected due to the shortage of this natural resource. Providing a safe and sustainable source has a great impact on education. Learning centers become equipped and provide quality education. On the other hand, learners have ample time to study. Students lose focus on education due to waterborne illnesses. The sustainable supply of safe resources ensures students learn without facing health-related issues such as diarrhea and stomach pain.

People overlook the importance of washing clothes, hands, and cleaning dishes. It is important to maintain high hygienic standards to improve health standards within households and institutions. Maintaining clean surroundings reduces water-related disorders among people. There are high productivity and better development in communities. Community members enjoy better health facilities and education.

Malnutrition is a common problem in small villages in various regions. This is due to lack of reliable supply of food. Although many people depend on rain to grow food, it is not always sustainable. In most cases, affected areas receive little rainfall leading to low agricultural productivity. As a result, communities suffer from food shortage leading to malnutrition and other health problems. It is easy to increase agricultural produce if water shortage is addressed and long-term solutions implemented.

Women in rural areas travel long distances in search of watering points. They waste a lot of time and energy which can be utilized in more important matters. By building sustainable projects, the burden of traveling long distance is reduced. Women can engage in different income generating activities. Sustainable supply creates opportunities for both male and female, closing the gender gap in society.

These kinds of projects do not only cater for the needs of the existing population but for those of the generations to come. Lack of reliable, convenient and safe supply will have a negative impact on the future populations. Individuals will not have sufficient supply or better services in different institutions.

The benefits of drinking clean water, good health and sanitation is key to success among individuals. Educated individuals are able to pursue their goals in the business world resulting in increased economic growth and quality leadership. Reliable and safe supply does not only enhance health, education, and sanitation, it is key to development in all aspects of life.
